The city of Jodhpur can boast of a few places of attractions. Among many other places in Jodhpur The Mandore Gardens is a worth seeing place in the city. This famous garden in Jodhpur is located at the outskirt of Jodhpur. The Mandore Gardens is just 5 miles north of Jodhpur. The Mandore Gardens is the royal garden in Jodhpur. This garden is adjacent to the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur. Mehrangarh Fort was the previous residence of the royal family of Jodhpur.
This beautifully decorated garden is one of the popular attraction in Jodhpur. The Mandore Gardens is open for the visit of the tourists from 8am to 8 pm. The high rock terrace in the garden is a wonderful place to get the view of the city. One may see the cenotaphs of the former rulers of Jodhpur in this garden. The cenotaphs in this garden in Jodhpur are not like the conventional chhatri-shaped cenotaphs of the rulers of Rajputana. These cenotaphs are made on the imitation of the Hindu temples. All these cenotaphs are in a line. These cenotaphs are four stories high. The tourist visiting The Mandore Gardens in Jodhpur will see beautiful columns in structure of the cenotaphs in The Mandore Gardens.There is also many towering spires in the cenotaphs. All these structures are made in red stone. The cenotaphs in the Mandore are called dewal. The most elegant of all the cenotaphs in Jodhpur is the famous dewal of Maharaja Ajit Singh. The ambiance of these cenotaphs is beautiful garden. The Mandor Gardens also the home of the queens. The cenotaphs of the queens are situated on the elevated rocky platforms.



Another attraction in The Mandore Garden is the famous hall of heroes. This is actually a collection of the statues of the various deities and legendary heroes of Rajputana. These statues are chiseled out of rock and painted in very bright color.
