Rajpath, in New Delhi, runs from Rashtrapati Bhavan to Vijay Chowk and from India Gate to the National Stadium, New Delhi. The New Delhi avenue is lined on both sides by lawns with rows of many trees and ponds. Undoubtedly, one of the most important stretch of road in India, Rajpath goes straight towards the Raisina Hill, which is the administrative center of India. North Block and South Block flank the Rajpath after it goes past the Raisina Hill. Finally the Rajpath ends at the gates of Rashtrapati Bhavan. At Vijay Chowk it crosses Sansad Marg. You can also have a glimpse of the Parliament House of India if you are coming from the India Gate. The boat Club is also located along the Rajpath. This place used to host various rallies and demonstrations in the past. Traveling across the Raj Path will give you a different charm and feeling.
You will find India Gate towards the eastern end of Rajpath. India Gate is a stone arch having a huge height of 42 meters. India Gate bears the name of the 85,000 Indian Army Soldiers who died in the campaigns of First World War, the North-West Frontiers operations and the Afghan War of 1919. Below the arch of India Gate is the memorial for the unknown soldier. India Gate is surrounded by beautiful green grass lawns and trees. The visitors of the city come and spend hours at the lawns of India Gate. This is a beautiful place to visit specially during the afternoon. You can visit there with your friends or family.
