Nizam-ud-Din Shrine

Nizam-ud-Din Shrine is the tomb of the famous sufi saint Nizam-ud-din Auliya. Nizam-ud-Din Shrine is built on the way from the tomb of Humayun. When you go inside the premises of the Nizam-ud-Din shrine you will find a tank which is surrounded by many other tombs. It is believed that there was a argument between the rulers of Tughlakabad and the saint over building this tank inside Nizam-ud-Din shrine in Delhi. The saint was of the opinion that the city of Tughlakabad will never flourish and so it happened according to his wish.
Nizam-ud-Din shrine also has got the tomb of Amir Khusru and the grave of Jahanara, the daughter of Shah Jahan. This Delhi monument is worth visiting around sunset time specially on Thursdays, as it is the popular time for worship. The qawwali singers start performing after the evening prayers gets over.

There are different other tombs which include the later grave of Jahanara, the daughter of Shah Jahan. This daughter of Shah Jahan stayed with her father during his imprisonment by Aurangzeb in the Red Fort of Agra. The tomb of a renowned Urdu poet Amir Khusru also has his tomb here. Here is also the tomb of Atgah Khan, a friend of Humayun and his son Akbar. Atgah Khan was murdered by Adham Khan in Agra. In trevenge of that, Akbar had Adham Khan expelled and his grave is near the Qutab Minar.
