India Gate- It is a 42metre high stone arch, and bears the name of the 85,000 Indian Army Soldiers who died during the First World War, the North-West Frontiers operations and the 1919 Afghan War. India Gate is surrounded by green grass lawns and trees and is visited by numerous people.
Jantar Mantar- If you walk just a few minutes from Connaught Place you will come across a strange collection of solomon coloured structures. The Jantar Mantar was built by Maharaja Jai Singh and is actually an observatory. Though it is not as large like the one of Jaipur Jantar Mantar at Delhi is a popular tourist's attraction. The interesting fact of these observatories is that they can calculate many astronomical movements with accuracy.
Red Fort- This monument is one of the most famous sightseeing option of Delhi. It is built in Red Sand stone. The height of the wall varies from 18 to 30 meters at places. In the evening the Delhi Tourism organises a light and sound show which tells the history of Delhi in context of the Red Fort.
Apart from the above places there are also other important sightseeing places in Delhi. This includes Qutab Minar, Humayun's Tomb, Bahai Temple, Jama Masjid, Safdarjung Tomb, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Lakshmi Narayan Temple and so on.
