In Chittorgarh, apart from the Chittorgarh Fort itself, the Singa Chowri Temple is one of the most important places to visit. Located within the premises of the Chittorgarh Fort, this place used to be one of the major places to worship for the residents within the fort. The Rajputs are considered to be the great believers of the heavenly force. In fact, many of the historians have asserted in their analysis that the great deal of courage and self assertion of the Rajputs originated from their faith in God and religion. The Singa Chowri Temple is considered to be one of the greatest marvels of the contemporary Rajput craftsmanship and artifacts. During the Muslim invasion to Chittorgarh, this great piece of architecture got damaged quite badly but later on with the tremendous initiative of the Government of Rajasthan, revival of the temple became possible and it is now back at its own grace.
