Above 300 varieties of birds are found in this wildlife park of 29-sq-kms. 11-sq-kms of the total area of the park are marshes and the rest are grassland and scrubland. While most of the parks in India have been developed from the hunting conserves of princely India, Keoladeo, known as Bharatpur wildlife sanctuary, is the only artificial habitat created by the a maharaja.
